Hazel We met Hazel in April 2007 and three weeks later bought her in order to prevent her from going on to an unpleasant situation. She had been used in sulkie racing by her previous owner and was very thin and nervous when we got her. She is a 4 year old 14.5hh cob and now she is extremely relaxed and happy. Thankfully she has not lost her stubborn side and is constantly keeping us on our toes and driving us on in our search to understand her. To find out more about her background go here. Misty We met Misty in August of 2008 as we were searching for a much needed companion for Hazel. We went to Cottage Rescue to meet her but she was making sure that no one was going to catch her on that day. We both looked at each and thought "She's perfect." She is a welsh mountain pony and is about 7 or 8 years old, 11.5hh, grey and has only one eye. When she was rescued by Cottage Rescue she had a severely injured eye which had not been treated and was so bad that it could not be saved. As a result she had to have an operation to have her eye removed. The empty eye socket was then stitched up and she healed well thanks to the huge commitment of the people at Cottage Rescue. She does bump into things occasionally but generally she seems to get on fine with her one good eye. She is very timid and edgey and has a long way to go but we are being patient and giving her as much time as she needs |
